Dr. Uri Basson
Geophysicist, President, Shallow Geophysics Division
Uri, the founder of Geo-Sense, has about 10 years of experience in geophysical exploration applied to
a wide range of disciplines, including civil engineering, environment and
archeology. He has received his M.Sc. in Geophysics & Planetary Sciences
(1992), from Tel Aviv University, Israel, on the topic of: Mapping
of Moisture Content and Structure of Unsaturated Sand Layers with GPR.
During his master studies, he conducted tens of GPR research surveys for
academic institutions. As a result of his master thesis, he developed a
Remote Sensing method of 3-D monitoring of subsurface water content. Uri
received his Ph.D. in Geophysics (2000) on the topic of: Imaging
of Active Fault Zone In the Dead Sea Rift: The Evrona Fault Zone as a Case
Study. The bottom line of his PH.D. thesis the development of the
ability to detect and map recent faults spatially, and to evaluate the
relative level of seismic activity that created these faults.
